Asset Recovery Systems®

ASSET RECOVERY SYSTEMS®  Maximizing Value Nationwide/Global

In banking, Asset Recovery refers to the process of recovering assets that have been lost or stolen from a bank or financial institution. This can include money, securities, or other financial assets. Banks use a variety of techniques and strategies to recover assets, such as tracking down and seizing assets, negotiating with individuals or organizations that have possession of the assets, or working with law enforcement to recover stolen assets.

Asset recovery in banking also includes non-performing assets (NPA) recovery. NPA refers to loans or advances for which the borrower has failed to make interest or principal payments for a certain period of time. Banks use various legal and financial tools to recover their money from such loans, including loan recovery tribunals, securitization and reconstruction of financial assets, and enforcement of security interest (SARFAESI) Act.

The goal of asset recovery in banking is to minimize financial losses and ensure that the bank’s assets are protected. This process is usually managed by the bank’s internal security or legal department.

For over 40 years, EDS’ Asset Recovery Systems® Group has skillfully guided and judiciously represented the world’s leading financial institutions, creditors, attorneys and law firms, investors, and myriad other stakeholders in recovering and disposing special assets and replevin actions throughout the world.

Our award-winning Asset Recovery services have earned us the distinction of being the only Asset Recovery provider in the country that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) allows to conduct Asset Recovery services on active Superfund Sites.

And, we are pleased to serve as Court-Appointed Keepers (Asset Recovery) for the U.S. Marshals Service for federal court seizures of assets under admiralty jurisdiction.

Our asset recovery specialists marshal onsite 24/7/365 throughout the world to secure, dismantle, and remove special assets from troubled accounts facing operational and/or financial challenges. Our asset recovery experts protect, preserve, maintain, and enhance all real and moveable assets that might otherwise be lost during replevin, bankruptcy, and foreclosure actions while actively pursuing permanent solutions.

From National Priority List Superfund Sites—to a decommissioned nuclear-powered aircraft carrier—to the pencils-on-the-desk—we handle it all, and we have successfully managed and generated Billions of Dollars for our global clientele in the recovery and disposition of their special assets to cash. We specialize in handling the disposition of highly contentious special situations and environmentally sensitive and impaired real and moveable Property.

Our Asset Recovery Centers of America® unit owns/operates strategically located multipurpose venues for storing and remarketing recovered assets. Our full-service Recovery Centers fulfill EDS’ unique capacity to immediately marshal our clients’ recovered moveable assets, air, land, and marine to our secure facilities for disposition. Our flagship Recovery Center is the Port of Slidell in Slidell, Louisiana (Greater New Orleans, LA USA).

We perform outright asset acquisitions across all industries and asset classes for creditors, investors, and others seeking flexibility through liquidity.

Financial Guarantees
To provide certainty and liquidity to our clients, we offer financial guarantees for many asset recovery services. Our creative, guaranteed solutions minimize risk and realize cash quickly. As a result, our clients have the capital to achieve their objectives. We leverage our balance sheet with up-front capital, either as an outright purchase or a unique structured arrangement with participation on the client’s part.

PICASSO OR VELVET-ELVIS…The professional alternative

Today’s business climate and environmental concerns dictate that asset recovery and replevin services must be handled by seasoned—practiced—experienced professionals who possess a keen appreciation of the legal exposures, environmental risks, and lender responsibilities that surround asset recovery activities.

It is often said that ‘liquidation is an art’ and ‘art is in the eye of the beholder’. Think of a Picasso and a gas station corner vendor selling  Velvet-Elvis’. While both are appreciated by their respective audience as ‘art’—in both appreciation and value…they are worlds apart. To appreciate EDS’ artistry in asset recovery is to appreciate the difference.

To best understand who we are and how we can help you, it is best to understand and appreciate who we are not. We are not dot-com auctioneers, used equipment jockeys, or two-bubba’s-with-a-truck. Our asset recovery specialists are highly-practiced artists who provide the professional alternative to creditors, investors, and other stakeholders.

Our practiced commercial loss mitigation, replevin, and asset recovery methodology and techniques are commensurate with the client’s best interests.  Our fee structure is incentive-based and promotes results that often exceed our client’s established goals. This ensures the highest and best values for our clients in converting their special assets and special situations to cash and relieves them of the frustrations, limitations, and especially the risks so often associated with such questionable Velvet-Elvi’.

EDS’ comprehensive commercial loss mitigation and asset recovery services include 24/7/365 Court-Appointed Receivers/Keepers, dismantling, shipping, storing, maintenance, repair, and remarketing. We are particularly skilled at handling marine-related machinery and equipment, land-based and floating assets, e.g., inland vessels, work-boats, barges, cranes, drilling equipment, marine equipment, and cargoes along the Greater Gulf Coast of the United States at our flagship Asset Recovery Centers of America® venue, the Port of Slidell in Slidell, Louisiana (Greater New Orleans, USA). Our asset recovery technicians are specifically trained in machinery and equipment removal, and our practiced methods and procedures protect and enhance the value of our client’s assets, unlike lesser, Velvet-Elvi’, equipment maulers so often associated with such activities.

Our remarketing efforts are handled by our polished global market-makers who are particularly skilled in building markets and seeking out and identifying end-user purchasers, not middlemen nor dealers, for secure private-treaty sales. These efforts translate into significantly greater returns for our clients. Remarketing can be accomplished on-site or from one of our strategically located Asset Recovery Centers of America® venues.

The choice is yours… PICASSO OR VELVET-ELVIS.
